From Sunday Baroque: Kristin Lee & American Sketches

The Classical Context blog series provides the nuanced details you need to better understand your favorite works and composers.

This weekend, Linton Chamber Music welcomes acclaimed violinist Kristin Lee, a musician whose journey is as inspiring as her artistry. Born in Seoul, Korea, Lee moved to the United States at age seven, facing the daunting challenge of adapting to a new culture and language. Once an outgoing and chatty child, she suddenly found herself isolated—until music became her bridge to connection, friendship, and purpose.

Ahead of her performance, Lee spoke with Sunday Baroque host (and Linton board member) Suzanne Bona about how her experiences as a foreign-born citizen have shaped her career and artistic choices. Their conversation explores identity, resilience, and the power of music to transcend barriers—an especially meaningful lens through which to experience this weekend’s concert, American Sketches.

Don’t miss this engaging conversation—listen to the interview here!

Are you eager to immerse yourself in all-American music? Don’t miss Kristin Lee and Michael Chertock at Linton Chamber Music for one performance only on February 16.
